AwSIM

About us

Welcome To AwSIM

AwSIM (Anywhere Simulation) allows healthcare educators to add interactivity to their existing content to create new healthcare scenarios and share that content remotely with their students. AwSIM provides healthcare educators with the power to create their own simulation scenarios using their own content (e.g., videos, images, text) and run the simulation remotely with their students. AwSIM is content independent and is easy to use.

Meet Our Specialist

Dr. Daher is the Director for ViTALHS (Virtual Technology Applications for Human Simulation) and an Assistant Professor in Informatics at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. After working in the industry for over 5 years, Dr. Daher received her PhD in Modeling and Simulation (2018) and a Postdoc focusing on healthcare simulation (2019) from the University of Central Florida. Her formal educational background also includes an MS in Digital Arts and Sciences under Computer and Information Science & Engineering from the University of Florida (2006), and a BS in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from the Lebanese American University (2004). Dr. Daher’s research focuses on using computer graphics, virtual and augmented reality to improve training, especially in the healthcare simulation domain. As a multidisciplinary researcher, she loves to combine computing with engineering, manufacturing, arts, science, languages, and various disciplines.

Dr. Gonzalez is the President of INACSL and the VP of Clinical Learning Resources at Sentinel U®. She is an internationally recognized simulation expert. She is an advanced certified healthcare simulation educator (CHSE-A). In the fall of 2020, she was recognized by the prestigious American Academy of Nurses as a Fellow (FAAN). She is also a fellow of the Academy of Nurse Educators (ANEF). Her nursing career focuses on advancing the science of nursing education through the use of simulation and its impact on learner outcomes. Dr.Gonzalez has a very specific body of work that has resulted in over 20 data-based manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, and one clinical skills textbook. She is one of several scientists to have two patents: on Detecting Sterile Field Events and Related Methods and Virtual Patients. She is a seasoned nurse educator with experience teaching across the curriculum including live, hybrid, online, and synchronous delivery methods.

Information Technology Student

Dahlia Musa is a PhD student in Information Systems at New Jersey Institute of Technology. She received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University. Her research interests focus on augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), computer graphics, and 3D modeling to advance healthcare training and practices.
